Thirty-three Car Field Set For Indy 500

(Speedway, IN) -- The 33-car field for the Indianapolis 500 is set. The final nine cars in the last three rows were filled on Sunday's Bump Day. Josef Newgarden ran the fastest qualifying four-lap average at 225.731 miles-per-hour and will sit on the inside of row nine.  Katherine Legge holds the last spot on the outside of row 11. Michel Jourdain, Jr. did not make the field. Ed Carpenter earned the pole Saturday. The 97th Indy 500 is Sunday, May 26.

 

Johnson Wins All-Star Race

(Concord, NC) -- Jimmie Johnson became the first driver to win the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race four times on Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The five-time Sprint Cup Series champion passed his Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Kasey Kahne, for the lead after the final restart with 10 laps remaining. Joey Logano finished in second followed by Kyle Busch, who led 29 of 90 laps, and Kahne.
