The Tampa Bay Lightning shut out the Dallas Stars 2-0 Monday night to win the Stanley Cup championship four games to two.

The players celebrated on the ice at Rogers Place arena in Edmonton, Canada, but there were no roaring fans in the stands because of the pandemic, which forced all games to be played in empty arenas since the NHL returned from its coronavirus shutdown with a two-city “bubble” setup.

Brayden Point scored in the first period and Blake Coleman put in the second goal in the second period.

Andrei  Vasilevskiy had 22 saves in his first postseason shutout. Anton Khudobin had 27 saves for the Stars.

Defenseman Victor Hedman won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. This is the second title for the Lightning, who also won in 2004.
