New Jersey Devils center Brian Boyle scored his first hat trick last night after 704 games in 12 NHL seasons. Boyle was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in September 2017 and played through last season while undergoing treatment. Two weeks ago, Boyle found out that he was in remission and, fittingly, he scored the hat trick on Hockey Fights Cancer night.
