Sacred Heart Wins Two, T-town, Windsor Split in Volleyball

Effingham Sacred Heart swept Newton St. Thomas in junior high school volleyball Thursday evening.

The Shamrocks won the seventh-grade contest 25-20, 25-20. In the eighth-grade match, Sacred Heart was a winner 25-6, 25-15.

Seventh-Grade Match

Sacred Heart -- Koester, 1 ace; Schmidt, 1 kill, 1 assist; Webster, 1 kill, 1 assist; Shamhart, 2 kills, 1 assist; McWhorter, 3 aces, 1 kill, 2 assists, 1 dig; Buenker, 1 dig; Stock, 2 kills, 2 assists; Kuhns, 1 kill, 1 dig; Carie, 1 ace, 1 kill

At Windsor

Teutopolis and Windsor split victories. T-town picked up the eighth-grade win, 25-6, 27-25. In seventh-grade play, Windsor won 25-12, 25-10.

T-town also won the B match. T-town is back in action today against Marshall.
