Blackhawks Deal Bollig To Flames

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The Blackhawks are parting ways with forward Brandon Bollig. The 'Hawks traded Bollig to the Calgary Flames Saturday for the 83rd overall pick in the draft. Bollig had seven goals and seven assists last year. Chicago used the pick to select forward Matheson Iacopeli.

 

NHL Free Agency Begins Tuesday

With the draft in the rear-view mirror, the NHL is shifting focus towards free agency. The free agency period begins tomorrow while the NHL has set a salary cap of $69-million. The Blackhawks selected nine new players over the weekend, including center Nick Schmaltz in the first round.
