Altamont Preschool Round Up 2021 Every year parents are offered the opportunity to find out about their child’s growth through a developmental screening. A developmental screening will give parents information on the growth of their child in the areas of concepts, motor skills and speech and language skills. A vision and hearing screening is also provided. The screening is a free service offered by the Altamont School District and the Department of Early Childhood and will last about one hour. Parents of children ages birth to five are encouraged to make an appointment for their child. Kindergarten pre-registration is also available at this time and location. The Altamont Lions Club will also be available with Kids Sight USA. The screening equipment being used may determine the presence of eye disorders including far and near sightedness, astigmatism, an isometropia, and strabismus. The screening is done by a photographic process from a distance of three feet. No physical contact is made with the child and no eye drops are administered. This is a free service.
