Stewardson Homecoming to feature live entertainment, Rescheduled Tractor Pull

            The 2019 edition of the Stewardson Lions Club Homecoming will feature live stage entertainment, and the rescheduled tractor pull. The homecoming will be held September 27-29 in and around the village park on west Main in Stewardson.  Friday and Saturday nights will include bingo from 6-10 p.m. in the South pavilion; and free entertainment on the stage.

Friday night starts off with the Lions’ lunch stand opening at 5:00. At 6:30 the C.O.W.S. will hold their ball drop which was weathered out at the Independence Day celebration. The Loudon Country band will take the stage from 7-9:30, with the C.O.W.S. Little miss, Little Mr., and Mr. Heifer contest during the break between band sets. Friday night, bingo will be available from 6-10 in the South pavilion, and the bounce houses will be open from 5-10.

Saturday will kick off with kids’ games in the park from 4-5. The Lunch stand will open at 5, bingo will be available from 6-10, and bounce houses available from 5-10. Stage entertainment will feature Tress and the Mixers from 7-9:30, with the coronation of Miss Stewardson at 10, and the annual raffle drawing taking place after the coronation.

The rescheduled tractor pull will be held Sunday at recreation site on the West side of town. Weigh-in and registration begin at 12 noon and the pulling begins at 1 p.m. The pull will feature 15 tractor classes, and 4 truck classes. Entry fee to pull is $20, except for the new14,000 lb. barnyard class. This is a bragging rights class. Hook fee will be $10. Admission to the pull will be $3 for those 13 and older. There will be food, soft drinks and beer available at the pull, the Lions ask that no outside alcohol be brought in to the event.

The Stewardson Lions invite everyone to the park to enjoy any or all, or all three days of the celebration.  It will be a chance to meet with old friends as well as make some new ones.  All who attend will enjoy a good old-fashioned small community homecoming.  Admission to the park and all stage entertainment is free.  Admission to the tractor pull is only $3 for those 13 and over.  Raffle tickets may be purchased from any candidate running for Miss Stewardson, or any Lions club member.

Candidates for Miss Stewardson are: Theresa Davis, and RaeAnn Smith.
