With Halloween right around the corner, children from 6 to 96 are in for a fun time when the Eastern Illinois University’s Symphony Orchestra presents Fright Night at 6 p.m., October 28 in the hauntingly spooktacular Dvorak Concert Hall.

Conducting the ESO will be David Commanday, Eastern’s Visiting Director of Orchestra Activities. Assisting Dr. Commanday will be graduate conductors Cameron Craig and Keegan Tucker.

During the special Halloween themed concert the Orchestra will perform a variety of music that’s sure to get everyone in the spirit of Halloween. Commanday said the Fright Night concert will feature performances of George Chadwick’s “Symphonic Sketches” (Hobgoblin), Tchaikovky’s “Swan Lake”, John Williams’ “Raiders March”, and Danny Elfman’s “Batman Suite” and much more.

Eastern Illinois University's annual Fright Night concert is a fun-filled way for the whole family to get into the Halloween mood through the music provided by the Eastern Symphony Orchestra. Children attending the concert are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. The costume contest will have children parade across the Dvorak stage so that the auditorium can see the variety of costumes. Halloween candy will be handed-out at the conclusion of the concert.

Tickets for Fight Night are $13 for general audience members, $11 for seniors (62+) and $5 for students.  Tickets can be purchased online at www.eiu.edu/doudna or at the Doudna Fine Arts Center Box Office.  Box Office hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and one hour prior to the scheduled performance.
