It will be an unforgettable night of music when international renowned, award-winning recording artist, and guitarist extraordinaire Pavlo performs at Eastern Illinois University on October 10. “An Evening with Pavlo” will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Doudna Fine Arts Center’s Dvorak Concert Hall. Born in Toronto to Greek parents, Pavlo has made a name for himself by offering a musical amalgam he simply calls “Mediterranean music” mixing the folkloric styles of Greek, flamenco, Latin, and even Balkan influences, wrapped in contemporary pop.

Pavlo’s one-night only performance at EIU is part of the tour promoting his second PBS special “Live in Kastoria” Greece.  For being all instrumental, Pavlo’s music speaks for itself. Over the span of his 20-year career, Pavlo has released 11 albums of his own music, plus two collaborative projects, including 2015’s Guitarradas with Remigio Pereira, and 2009’sTrifecta with fellow guitar masters Rick Emmett and Oscar Lopez.

Pavlo’s music has taken him all around the world. Along the way, he’s performed for royalty in the likes of Prince Charles and worked and toured with artists such as Jose Feliciano, Jon Secada, Olivia Newton-John and The Tenors.

Pavlo is a TRUE WORLD artist, and has become famous for bringing audiences to their feet. “An Evening with Pavlo” is presented in partnership with WEIU TV.

Tickets for “An Evening with Pavlo” are $20 for general admission, $15 for students and can be purchased online at www.doudnatix.com or at the Doudna Fine Arts Center Box Office. Box Office hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and one hour prior to the scheduled performance.
