EHS Boys, St. A, T-town Girls Win in Golf

Effingham High School's boys golf squad defeated Teutopolis 157-182 in action at the Effingham Country Club Wednesday.

Effingham's Jackson Wending picked up medalist honors with a 35. Also scoring for the Hearts were Jake Linders 38, Callaway Smith 42 and Brandon Dahnke 42. Non-counting scores were Sean Sandifer 42, Reed Schafer 45, Michael Woltman 50, Matt Linders 50 and Dustin Gurley 64.

Teutopolis was led by Christian Deters with a 41, Chad Zerrusen 44, Justin Kowalski 45 and Kyle Brumleve 52. Non-counters were Evan Schlink 53, Brayden Bushue 54, Keegan Meyer 54 and Ryan Sandschafer 56.

In the girls match, Teutopolis won with a 205 followed by Effingham 214 and Paris 282. T-town's Haley Giles was medalist with a 45. Also scoring were Ellie Ruholl 49, Casey Willenborg 51 and Katie Thoele 60. Non-counting score was Lea Thoele with a 77.

Scoring for the Hearts were Alex Brummer 48, Hope Collier 53, Morgan Wilson 56 and Madison Weis 57. Kaylee Tonn had a 61 for the non-counting score.

Scoring for Paris were Sarah Powers 63, Jessena Goddard 65, Sydney Asbury 76 and Brianna Kammer 78. Non-counter was McKinley Sheehy 78.

 

At Mattoon

Effingham St. Anthony came calling for a girls meet and tallied a 192 followed by Charleston 220 and Mattoon 220.

The Bulldogs were led by Mariah Bushue with a 43 for medalist honors. Also scoring were Madison Bushue 47, Kyla Burton 48 and Abbie Schmidt 53. Non-counting scores were Abby Brown 58 and Maddie Schuette 68.

Scoring for Mattoon were Katie Holsapple 53, Taylor Beason 55, Whitney Meeker 56 and Laruen Spain 56. Non-counters were Melanie Bullock 60 and Alexis Dean 61.

Charleston scores were Lauren Chappell 46, Morgan Sherwood 57, Abby Youngblood 58 and Allie O'Dell 59. Non-counters were Aislinn Parish 60 and Linnsey Veach 61.
