St. Anthony Girls Golf Squad Picks Up Victory, Area Roundup

St. Anthony played host to Mattoon and claimed a 204-211 victory at the Effingham Country Club Monday.
Madison Bushue was medalist for the Bulldogs with a 46. Also scoring were Mariah Bushue 47, Kelsea Dust 51 and Kyla Burton 53. Non-scorers were Abbie Schmidt 56 and Abby Brach 57. The Bulldogs improved to 4-1.
Scoring for Mattoon were Lauren Spain 47, Katie Holsapple 53, Whitney Meaker 53 and Alexis Dean 54. Non-scorers were Taylor Beason 57 and Kaylee Nottmeyer 63.
At Salem
Effingham dropped to 3-4 on the season with a 183-207 loss to Salem. The medalist was Salem's Megan Gallatin with a 42.
Effingham was led by Morgan Wilson and Alex Brummer with a 46 each. Also scoring were Hope Collier 53 and Kaylee Tonn 62. Non-scorer was Madison Weis 63.
Also scoring for the Wildcats were Mallory Daniels 44, Haley Gallatin 47 and Morgan Thompson 50. Non-scorers were Emily Baer 61 and Sidney Holst 70.
At St. Anthony
St. Anthony hosted a junior varsity boys invitational. Salem took the team title with a 168 followed by St. Anthony 171, Effingham 182, Teutopolis 215 and Windsor 221 at the Fore Way Golf Course.
Medalist was St. Anthony's Niko Dust with a 39. Effingham's Brandon Dahnke finished second with a 40. Salem's Will Fulkerson was third with a 41 and Brenden Boles fifth with a 41. St. Anthony's Mitchell Sager took fourth with a 41.

Arcola tallied a victory over Altamont and Sullivan in a boys golf triangular at Kaskaskia Country Club.
Arcola scored 167 while Altamont had a 201 and Sullivan 207. Arcola's Chris Davis was medalist with a 39. Leading Altamont was Justin McGinnis with a 48.
