EHS Girls Fifth at Olney, T-town Boys Fall to Charleston

OLNEY -- Effingham High School's girls golf squad finished fifth in the Olney Invitational Wednesday.

Taking first was Mount Carmel with 166 followed by Charleston 174, Mount Zion 188, Effingham 189 and Mattoon 190. Cumberland and Flora had individuals compete.

Medalist was Charleston's Lauren Chappell with a 33.

Scoring for Effingham were Morgan Wilson 43, Alex Brummer 50, Hope Collier 51 and Kaylee Tonn 55.

At Teutopolis

Charleston edged Teutopolis 164-167 in boys golf competition Wednesday at the Effingham Country Club.

Cordy Horn was medalist with a 39 for the Trojans. Also scoring for Charleston were Coleman Engelkes 42, Drew Dillon 43 and Brett Thomas 45.

Scoring for the Wooden Shoes were Christian Deters 40, Ryan Sandschafer 41, Chad Zerrusen 43 and Kyle Brumleve 43.
