St. A Splits With Salem, Altamont Second In Golf Meet

Salem claimed a 147-164 victory over Effingham St. Anthony in boys golf action at the Wildcats home course Tuesday.

Salem captured the top two spots as Sam Beavin medaled with a 34 followed by Rod Foreman with a 36. Also scoring were Joe Tolliver 38 and Nathan Williams 39. Non-scorers were Rowdy Hensley 51 and Brendan Boles 75.

The Bulldogs were led by Garrett Hixenbaugh who took third overall with a 37. Also scoring were Jared Hutchison 41, Connor Greene 42 and Jeff Niebrugge 44. Non-scorers were Sam Wortman 46 and Nate Schmidt 48.

In the girls meet, St. Anthony came out a 197-208 winner in its first regular season meet. Salem's Megan Gallatin was medalist with a 38. Scoring for the Bulldogs were Madison Bushue 44, Mariah Bushue 46, Abbie Schmidt 52 and Kelsea Dust 55. Non-scorers were Kyla Burton 58 and Abby Brown 96.

Scoring for Salem along with M. Gallatin were Haley Gallatin 54, Mallory Dadeis 57 and Morgan Thompson 59. Non-scorers were Emily Barr 62 and Brook Frederick 64.

At Pana

Altamont took second place in a triangular golf meet at Oak Terrace Golf Course. Hillsboro won the meet with a 180 followed by Altamont 198 and Pana 204.

Adam Mayhaus shot a 46 for the Indians followed by Griffin Jackman 47, Logan Deadmond 52, Justin McGinnis 53 and Cameron Jackman 56. Altamont is now 1-4.
