EHS Girls Nab Golf Win, Boys Drop Match

Effingham High School claimed a girls victory but fell in boys competition to Sullivan at the Effingham Country Club Wednesday in golf action.

The Hearts won the girls meet, 189-241. Medalist was Effingham's Marah Kirk with a 43. Also scoring were Ella Niebrugge 47, Elena Niebrugge 48 and Marissa Allie 51. Non-counting scores were Anna Hirtzel 54 and Coralin Ohnesorge 59.

Scoring for Sullivan were Alyssa Shriver 55, Lara Herschberger 60, Ruby Haegen 61 and Abby Kirkwood-Ray 62. The non-counting scores were a 63 by Shae Ellis and a 65 by Morgan Moll.

In boys action, Sullivan was a 165-180 winner.

Sullivan's Brett Bushue and Ben Bushue had a 40 each while Diepholz scored a 41 and Haegan a 44. Non-counters were Dwyer and Standefer a 44 each.

Scoring for the Hearts were David Splechter 42, Ryker Schneider 44, Jett Volpi 46 and Ethan Ritz 48. Non-counter was Nick Burgess 53.
