Altamont Second in Golf Triangular

VANDALIA -- Vandalia High School captured a triangular golf meet with a 165 followed by Altamont 185 and Ramsey 191 in action Thursday.

Medalist was Vandalia's Scott Shulman with a 36. Also scoring for the Vandals were Weaver 41, Schroeder 43 and Dunn 45. Non-counting were Cox 48 and Springman 61.

Scoring for Altamont were Grant Schmidt 43, Dylan Miller 45, Noah Kopplin 46 and Austin Wendling 51. Non-counting scores were Harrison Fitzjarrald 54 and Logan Sims 55.

Scoring for Ramsey were Camren Neisler 46, Logan Ernest 46, Mason Fesser 47 and Marcus Coss 52. Non-counters were Marc Grigoroff 57 and Dillon Whitten 71.

Girls competed from the three schools but no team scores were kept. Altamont's Addie Smith and Ramsey's Cecilia Ritter had a 55 each followed by Vandalia's Alisha Swain 63, Ramsey's Kourtney Jansen 67, Kianna Shouse 68 and Samantha Stokes 73 and Altamont's Violet Wendling 78.

 

At Charleston

St. Anthony captured a boys junior varsity golf match over Charleston 185-189 Thursday.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Dylan Ferguson 42 who was the medalist, Ben Strullmyer 46, Ethan Rozene 48 and Jayden Rios 49. Non-counters were Luke Flaig 49, Ryan Schultz 50, Alex Erickson 52, Augie Heal 53 and Darin Hutchison 64.

Charleston's scores came from Jake Crews 45, Jonah Becker 46, Austin Talbert 47 and Koltin Winnett 50. Non-counters were Jake Denison 51, Seth Ryan 58 and Taylor Drake 58.

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis and Mount Zion girls competed in golf with the Wooden Shoes winning 220-266.

T-town's Hoene was medalist with a 49 while Magee had a 51, Thoele a 58 and Niebrugge a 62.

Mount Zion's Riley Houser had a 62.
