SULLIVAN -- Jake Linders medaled for Effingham High School with a two-under-par 34 while teammate Jackson Wendling chipped in with a one-over-par 37 as the Hearts finished with a team 162 total to beat Sullivan 192 and Meridian 192 Wednesday.

"Jake Linders had a career low today," said EHS Coach Jeff Schafer. "He had been showing signs lately of breaking out and tonight he did. He had an eagle and two bridies and played a great round.

"Jackson continued his great play with another 37 to finish second and Reed Schafer tied for third and gave us another counting score."

Also scoring for the Hearts was Anthony Barrett with a 46. Effingham improved to 10-2 while Meridian dropped to 10-11 and Sullivan to 3-17.
