The Andrew Gobczynski Big Heart Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity, announced details for its First Annual Charity Golf Tournament scheduled Friday, September 25 at the Effingham Country Club.

All proceeds will benefit the Andrew Gobczynski Big Heart Foundation, established by Andrew's family after his death in late 2014 to continue his legacy by giving back to the Effingham community.

"I'm extremely proud to launch our first annual golf tournament a day after what would've been Andrew's 34th birhday and the first birthday I have to spend without him," said twin sister, Stephanie Gobczynski Uebinger. "We hope the event proves to be successful in raising money for local Effingham programs and causes that best represents Andrew's big heart. I can't think of a better way to remember Andrew than to continue his legacy by giving back to the community he loved so dearly. A huge and humble thank you to all involved for making this possible. My family thanks you for helping us make positive change out of a negative situation."

The format for the tournament will be 36 four-player teams. Tournament check-in ativities will begin at 11:30 a.m. with all groups of players teeing off simultaneously at 12:30 p.m. The entry fee of $100 per player or $400 per team, which includes an 18-hole round, dinner, prizes and more. A $25 ticket may be purchased for non-golfers alike who wish to attend the steak dinner, beginning at 5:30 p.m. directly following the award ceremony recognizing tournament participants.

The foundation welcomes any and all individuals, businesses and groups to participate in the event. Team sponsorship opportunties are also available and donations are appreciated. To register, visit: www.facebook.com/andrewbigheartfoundation and download the official entry form.
