Rohlfing Finishes First Round in Women's State Amateur Championship

Miranda Rohlfing of Effingham was among the competitors in Tuesday's qualifying round of the Illinois Women's State Amateur Golf Championship.

Rohlfing, who is a St. Anthony High School graduate who just completed her sophomore year at University of Missouri-St. Louis, finished tied for 24th with an 81 after Tuesday's round. The top score was turned in by Shawn Rennegarbe of Addieville with a 72. Then there were three tied for second with 73s.

Rohlfing is set to take on Taylor Arenson of Naperville today at 8:50 a.m. but times have been delayed for 3 1/2 hours.

The tournament is being played at Illini Country Club in Springfield. It's the 82nd annual event.

The first round was 18 holes of stroke play to determine match play seeding. The championship flight will be made up of the low 32 players. Play will conclude Friday.
