Effingham resident Jaclyn Jansen will be among the competitors at this weekend's Decatur-Forsyth Classic at Hickory Point Golf Course.

The former state golf champion during her years at St. Anthony High School will be in the final group of the day on the first hole Friday when action begins. Jansen's group will hit at 2:11pm.

The event is part of the Symetra Tour, billed as the Road to the LPGA, and dates back to 1985, making it the third longest running women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour or Symetra Tour.

The top 144 up-and-coming professionals will compete for a $110,000 total tournament purse with the winner earning $16,500.

Jansen, a Baylor University graduate, is the daughter of Jack and Jennifer Jansen of Effingham.
