KANKAKEE -- The Effingham St. Anthony High School girls golf squad traveled to Oak Springs Golf Course Saturday and captured third place in the 13 team, 78 player invitational with a team total of 366.

"High winds, fast greens and a menacing creek led to some higher scores but the girls hung in there and showed their depth with the Bushue girls firing a pair of 94s," said St. Anthony Coach Brad Rohlfing. "Emmie Schultz shot a 92 and Miranda Rohlfing an 86. Also competing were Kyla Burton with a 112 and Sara Ragland with a 125. While Madison adn Mariah Bushue continued their solid play, Emmie is gaining more confidence in her game.

"Miranda did not play her best, but received a medal for her 13th place finish. There were a lot of talented teams in this invitational so we are pleased to receive the third place plaque."

St. Anthony continues a busy schedule this week hosting Flora today, Champaign St. Thomas More Tuesday, playing at Pana Thursday and Saturday at Angus Links in the Windsor Invitational.

Wheaton Warrenville won the invitational with a 337 followed by Lyons Township 337, St. Anthony 366, Mahomet-Seymour 368, Hinsdale South 370, Bishop McNamara 386, Minooka 394, St. Ignatius 403, Marion Catholic 416, Benet Academy 422, Homewood Flossmor 430, Joliet Catholic 433 and Bradley Bourbonnais 458.
