Tuscola Golf Sectional Contested, Other Area Sectionals Suspended

TUSCOLA -- The Class 1A Tuscola Girls Golf Sectional was the lone area sectional contested Monday as weather interrupted several competitions.

Rochester won the meet with a 346 total followed by Charleston 369, Lincoln 378, LeRoy 391, Mahomet-Seymour 393, Auburn 399, Mount Zion 410, Camp Point Central 431, Hamilton 445, Macomb 451, Farmer City Blue Ridge 464 and Pana 490.

Medalist was Lexi Petersen of Cuba with a 73. The lone area competitor was Windsor's Katie Greuel who failed to advance to State. The top three teams and top 10 individuals, not members of advancing teams, will compete at State.

The Class 1A Zeigler-Royalton Sectional, which includes St. Anthony, Effingham and two Teutopolis golfers, Madison Magee and Casey Willenborg, will be contested today.

Also suspended until today was the Class 1A Trenton Wesclin Boys Sectional including Effingham St. Anthony, Altamont's Adam Mayhaus and Teutopolis' Christian Deters.

Effingham will compete in the Class 2A Waterloo Sectional while Luke Baker of Neoga and Tristan Warner of Windsor will be competing in the Class 1A Normal Sectional today.
