Altamont Picks Up Golf Win, Area Roundup

ST. ELMO -- Altamont High School claimed a golf victory over Windsor in competition at St. Elmo Golf Course Thursday, 187-216.

Altamont's Adam Mayhaus and Windsor's Tristan Warner shared medalist honors with a 39 each. Also scoring for Altamont were Logan Deadmond 44, Cameron Jackman 51 and Noah Kopplin 53.

Windsor was led by Warner, Zach Van Hyfte 55, Katie Greuel 57 and Sterling Howard 65. Non-counting scores were Noah Boyer 66 and Anthony Curry 66.

Altamont is now 1-8 on the season while Windsor is 0-7.

Altamont JV scores were Robert Davis 48 and Austin Wendling 62.

 

At Greenville

Teutopolis placed second in a four-team meet at Greenville Thursday.

Greenville was the winner with a 169 followed by Teutopolis 184, Vandalia 185 and Pana 197. Scoring for the Shoes were Deters with a 42, Buenker with a 45, Schlink with a 47 and Bushue with a 50. Non-counting scores were Meyer 51 and Weber 61.

Medalist was Greenville's Michael Wernle with a 37.

 

At Tuscola

Effingham St. Anthony's junior varsity competed against Tuscola Thursday at Fox Prairie Golf Course.

Tuscola tallied a 160 while the Bulldogs had a 184. Scoring for St. Anthony were Jacob Schmidt 43, Niko Dust 44, Mitchell Sager 46 and Gus Koester 51. Non-counting scores were Trey Koester 55, Will Willenborg 64, Augie Heal 69, Derek Kruger 69, Kyle Willenborg 80 and Ethan Rozene 81.

Tuscola took the top two spots as Jarrett Wallace was medalist with a 38 followed by David Manselle with a 39. Also scoring were Seth Icenogle 40 and Gunnar Campbell 43. Other's competing were Tommy Watson 43, Logan Grace 47, Cole Thomas 48, Ethan Hearnley 49, Blake Woodard 56 and Cordale Kerns 57.
