Effingham's Jaclyn Jansen is moving up! The St. Anthony High School and Baylor University graduate, finished in a tie for third place in a Symetra Tour invitational during the weekend at South Bend, Ind.

Jansen tied with Jackie Stoelting of Vera Beach, Fla. Both had 207 scores at the Four Winds Invitational. Jansen shot 70-70-67 for the nine-under-par score while Stoelting shot 72-70-65. Both earned $9,084.

Nicole Vandermade used a late surge to shoot a 4-under 68 to win the Four Winds Invitational by one stroke at Blackthorn Golf Club. She finished at 12-under-par for the weekend, one shot better than Lee Lopez.

It was Vandermade’s first career Symetra Tour victory. She is the eighth first-time winner on the Symetra Tour in 2014. The Symetra Tour is known as the Road to the LPGA. This is where many current LPGA players began their careers.

"I'm extremely happy," said Jansen, the daughter of Jack and Jennifer Jansen. "It was a fun day. I'm glad to finally break the barriers. Hopefully I'll take it and keep going."

Next up on the tour schedule is the Island Resort Championship in Harris, Michigan starting this Friday and running through Sunday.
