Wie Captures First Major, Wins U.S. Open

(Pinehurst, NC) -- Michelle Wie has captured her first major championship, winning the U.S. Women's Open at Pinehurst Number-Two. Wie fired an even round of 70 on Sunday to finish at two-under-par for the tournament. World number-one Stacy Lewis made a charge Sunday with a 66, but finished two shots back of Wie in second place. Stephanie Meadow was alone in third at one-over for the tournament. Amy Yang shared the lead with Wie entering Sunday's final round, but shot a four-over 74 to finish in fourth.
Streelman Wins Travelers Championship
(Cromwell, CT) -- Kevin Streelman birdied the final seven holes to capture the Travelers Championship title from TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. He finished 15-under and won the event by one stroke over Sergio Garcia and K.J. Choi, who were both at minus-14. Aaron Baddeley was at 13-under and alone in fourth. The CVS Caremark Charity Classic starts today at the Rhode Island Country Club.
