Vikings Edge Bears In OT

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Blair Walsh nailed a game-winning 34-yard field goal with 1:47 left in overtime to lift the Vikings to a 23-20 win over the Bears at Mall of America Field. Walsh, who missed a 57-yarder earlier in OT, also made a game-tying 30-yard field goal with 24 seconds left in regulation to force the overtime. Adrian Peterson ran for a season-high 211 yards, while Matt Cassel finished 20-of-33 for 243 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Vikings, who improved to 3-8-1. Josh McCown was 23-of-36 for 355 yards and two TD's to Alshon Jeffery, who ended with 12 catches for a career-high 249 yards. Matt Forte had 23 carries for 120 yards in the setback.  Chicago fell to 6-6. Robbie Gould missed a potential game-winning field goal attempt in OT.


49ers Cruise Past Rams

(San Francisco, CA) -- Colin Kaepernick threw for 275 yards and a touchdown as the 49ers cruised past the Rams 23-13 at Candlestick Park. Vernon Davis had four catches for 82 yards and a TD while Anquan Boldin added nine grabs for 98 yards for the Niners, who improved to 8-4 with their second straight win.  Frank Gore ran for 42 yards and a score and Michael Crabtree had two catches for 68 yards in his season debut for San Fran. Kellen Clemens finished 19-of-37 for 218 yards with a TD and an interception as St. Louis had its two-game winning streak snapped and slipped to 5-7. Zac Stacy had 19 carries for 72 yards in defeat.


Jaguars Bust Browns With Late TD

(Cleveland, OH) -- Chad Henne connected with Cecil Shorts the Third for a 20-yard touchdown pass with 40 seconds left to play as the Jaguars upended the Browns 32-28 at FirstEnergy Stadium. The Jags' win offset a terrific performance from Cleveland wide receiver Josh Gordon, who caught 10 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns.  He became the first player in NFL history to post back-to-back 200-yard games. Maurice Jones-Drew ran for 77 yards and tossed a touchdown pass to Marcedes Lewis. Clay Harbor also caught a TD pass. Josh Scobee made three field goals as Jacksonville improved to 3-9 with its third win in the past four games. Brandon Weeden threw for 370 yards but was picked off twice. The Browns gave up two points on a safety when the ball was snapped out of the end zone in the fourth quarter. Cleveland dropped to 4-and-8 with its third straight loss and sixth in the past seven.


Vinatieri Kicks Colts Past Titans

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Adam Vinatieri booted five field goals to kick the Colts past the Titans 22-14 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Donald Brown ran for 54 yards and the lone touchdown with two minutes to go. Andrew Luck finished 17-of-32 for 200 yards and an interception and also ran for 42 yards on five carries for the 8-and-4 Colts, who have alternated wins and losses over their last five games. Ryan Fitzpatrick tossed for 201 yards and a TD while adding a rushing score, but he threw three interceptions and lost a fumble in the setback. Chris Johnson was held to 69 yards on 18 carries for Tennessee, which fell to 5-7 with its third loss in four games.


Dolphins Hold Jets To Three Points In Win

(East Rutherford, NJ) -- Ryan Tannehill completed 28-of-43 passes for 331 yards and the Miami defense was solid in the Dolphins' 23-3 win over the Jets at MetLife Stadium. Tannehill threw touchdowns to Brian Hartline and Mike Wallace. The Dolphins held the Jets to 177 yards of total offense, intercepted two passes, recorded four sacks and recovered a fumble. Caleb Sturgis made three field goals as Miami improved to 6-6. The Jets made a quarterback change during the game as Matt Simms replaced an ineffective Geno Smith after the first half. New York fell to 5-7 with its third straight loss.


Eagles Clip Cards For Fourth Straight Win

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Nick Foles threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns as the Eagles held on to clip the Cardinals 24-21 at Lincoln Financial Field. Zach Ertz had five catches for 68 yards and two TD's and Brent Celek added a TD grab for the Eagles, who improved to 7-and-5 with their fourth straight win.  LeSean McCoy ran for 79 yards on 19 carries while adding five catches for 36 yards in the victory. Carson Palmer finished 24-of-41 for 302 yards with three TD's, two interceptions and a fumble for Arizona, which had its four-game winning streak snapped and fell to 7-5. Michael Floyd had five catches for 99 yards and a score, while Larry Fitzgerald had five grabs for 72 yards and a TD in defeat.


Panthers Beat Bucs For Eighth Straight Win

(Charlotte, NC) -- Cam Newton had a pair touchdown passes and ran in for another as the Panthers beat the Buccaneers 27-6 at Bank of America Stadium for their franchise-record eighth straight win. Newton finished 18-of-29 for 263 yards with two interceptions, and he added a game-high 68 yards rushing on five carries. Ted Ginn Jr. and Brandon LaFell both had TD catches for the Panthers, who improved to 9-3. Carolina will play the Saints in New Orleans next Sunday with first place in the NFC South on the line. Mike Glennon was 14-of-21 for 180 yards, a pick and a fumble for Tampa, which had its three-game winning streak snapped and fell to 3-9. Bobby Rainey was held to 63 yards on 17 carries in the setback. The Bucs managed just 206 yards of total offense.


Patriots Outlast Texans

(Houston, TX) -- The Patriots overcame a 10-point second-quarter deficit and picked apart the Texans' defense on their way to a 34-31 win at Reliant Stadium. New England gained 453 yards of total offense with Tom Brady passing for 371 yards and two scores. Rob Gronkowski had six catches for 127 yards and a touchdown, and Julian Edelman caught nine balls for 101 yards. Stephen Gostkowski kicked a pair of fourth-quarter field goals for the Pats, who are winners of four of their last five games. New England improved to 9-3. Ben Tate led Houston with 102 rushing yards and three touchdowns, but the Texans lost their 10th straight. That losing streak is a franchise record for 2-10 Houston.


Falcons Fly By Bills In Overtime

(Toronto, Ontario) -- Atlanta's five-game losing streak is over after a 34-31 overtime win against the Bills at Toronto's Rogers Centre. Matt Bryant's 36-yard field goal in overtime gave the Falcons the win. Steven Jackson rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns and Matt Ryan completed 28-of-47 passes for 311 yards and a touchdown to Tony Gonzalez. Roddy White caught 10 passes for 143 yards as Atlanta improved to 3-9. C.J. Spiller rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries for Buffalo, which served as the home team. Fred Jackson ran for a touchdown and caught another one from E.J. Manuel. The Bills fell to 4-8 with their fourth loss in the past five games.


Broncos Seize Control Of AFC West

(Kansas City, MO) -- Peyton Manning threw for 403 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions as the Broncos held on for a 35-28 win over the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.  Eric Decker caught eight balls for 174 yards and four TD's as Denver moved to 10-2. The Broncos seize control of the AFC West with the victory, grabbing a one-game lead on KC and taking the head-to-head tiebreaker having won both matchups. Montee Ball rumbled for 117 yards on the ground while Demaryius Thomas had three catches for 106 yards. Jamaal Charles had 93 yards with a touchdown for the Chiefs in defeat. Alex Smith threw for 293 yards with two touchdowns and an interception as KC fell to 9-3 with its third straight loss.


Bengals Clip Chargers In San Diego

(San Diego, CA) -- Andy Dalton threw for 190 yards and a touchdown as the Bengals clipped the Chargers 17-10 at Qualcomm Stadium. Dalton ended 14-of-23 with an interception. BenJarvus Green-Ellis had 20 carries for 92 yards and a TD, while Giovani Bernard added 57 yards on 14 touches for Cincinnati, which has won two in-a-row to up its mark to 8-4. A.J. Green had five catches for 83 yards and a score in the victory. Philip Rivers finished 23-of-37 for 252 yards with a touchdown and a pick for the Bolts, who have lost four-of-five to dip to 5-7 on the year. Keenan Allen had eight grabs for 106 yards and Ladarius Green had a 30-yard TD catch in defeat.


Giants Come Back To Best Redskins

(Landover, MD) -- The Giants stormed back from an early 14-point deficit to score a 24-17 win over the Redskins at FedEx Field. Andre Brown ran for 35 yards and found the end zone twice for New York, which improved to 5-7 and stayed mathmatically alive for the postseason. Eli Manning was 22-of-28 for 235 yards with a touchdown and interception for the G-Men. Victor Cruz had six catches for 80 yards while Brandon Myers caught five balls for 61 yards and a TD. Robert Griffin the Third threw for 207 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 88 yards on 12 carries. Alfred Morris was held to 26 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries for Washington, which fell to 3-9 and is eliminated from playoff contention.


Saints, Seahawks Fight For NFC Supremacy On "MNF"

(Seattle, WA) -- The top two teams in the NFC square off on "Monday Night Football" this week as the New Orleans Saints face the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field. The Saints are riding a three-game winning streak and lead the NFC South with a 9-and-2 record, a half-game ahead of Carolina. The Seahawks have won six in-a-row and own the NFL's best record at 10-1. Seattle has won a franchise-record 13 straight at home going back to 2011. Drew Brees leads the high-powered New Orleans passing attack, having thrown for more than 36-hundred yards and 28 touchdowns. He faces a depleted Seattle secondary, that is missing the suspended Walter Thurmond and injured Brandon Browner. The Seahawks are tied for the NFL lead with 16 interceptions and have forced an NFL best 26 turnovers in all. Seattle won the last meeting 41-36 at home in the 2010 postseason.
