Bears Get Set For Ravens

(Lake Forest, IL) -- The Bears hit the practice field today to prepare for this Sunday's home game against the Baltimore Ravens. Chicago is dealing with multiple injuries, including quarterback Jay Cutler. The signal-caller will not play against the Ravens and Josh McCown will get the start.

 

Texans Release Safety Ed Reed

(Houston, TX) -- Ed Reed's stay in Houston is over. The Texans have released the veteran safety. The 35-year-old signed a three-year, $15-million contract with Houston this past offseason, but lost his starting job in Week Nine. Reed said the team was outplayed and outcoached after losing to Arizona this past week.

 

NFL Asks Dolphins To Delay Meeting With Martin

(Miami, FL) -- The Miami Dolphins are deferring to the NFL and will hold off on a planned meeting with offensive lineman Jonathan Martin. Investigator Ted Wells has asked the Fins to delay their meeting until he and the league meet with Martin Friday.  Miami owner Stephen Ross was scheduled to speak with Martin today.

 

Chiefs WR Bowe Arrested For Speeding, Pot Possession

(Kansas City, MO) -- Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is dealing with some legal issues after being arrested Saturday night. A Riverside, Missouri Police press release states that Bowe was pulled over for speeding and arrested for marijuana possession. He later released on $750 bond.

 

Broncos' Fox Wants To Return By Season's End

(Englewood, CO) -- Denver Broncos head coach John Fox says he wants to return to the sidelines before the season ends. The 58-year-old remains at his home in Charlotte recovering from heart surgery last week. Defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio is leading the team in Fox's absence.

 

College Teams Gear Up For Football Games

A number of local college football teams are getting set for their next games.  Illinois plays host to third-ranked Ohio State on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. Northwestern is home to face Michigan at Ryan Field later that day. Notre Dame is off until hosting BYU on November 23rd.
