Bears Keep Giants From Grabbing First Win

(Chicago, IL) -- The Giants miserable season continues as they fell to Bears, 27-21, at Soldier Field. Brandon Marshall led the Bears with nine catches for 87 yards and two touchdown receptions from Jay Cutler. Cutler completed 24-of-36 passes for 262 yards and had no turnovers in addition to the touchdown tosses. Chicago is 4-2. Bears head coach Marc Trestman says this was not an easy win for his team.

Eli Manning tossed three interceptions including two to Tim Jennings, the first was a pick-six in the first quarter and the second ended New York's final drive in the fourth that could have won the game. Manning has a league-high 15 interceptions on the season.  Big Blue has fallen to 0-6 for the first time since 1976.

 

49ers' Smith Faces Felony Weapons Charges

(Santa Clara, CA) -- Problems continue to stack up for San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith. He's already facing DUI charges, and now prosecutors in Santa Clara County have filed three felony charges for possession of assault weapons. The 24-year-old Smith remains on indefinite leave from the 49ers, more than two weeks after entering in-patient rehab for substance abuse.

 

Colts To Honor Peyton In Week Seven

(Indianapolis, IN) -- The Colts will honor former longtime quarterback Peyton Manning when he returns to Lucas Oil Stadium in Week Seven.  Manning and the Broncos take on the Colts next Sunday night. Colts owner Jim Irsay tells "USA Today" they will have a great tribute to honor Manning's contributions to the organization. Manning is now in his second season with Denver, which is 5-0.
