The Effingham Hearts head for Paris Friday night for Apollo Conference football action missing another key cog in their machine.
The Hearts received confirmation this week that center Khole Moran has a torn miniscus and a strained or torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season. It appears Tritt Rush will move into the center spot for Friday's game.
Effingham is tied atop the Apollo Conference standings with Mattoon at 2-0 heading into Friday night action. The Hearts have posted wins at Charleston and at home against Salem to improve to 2-3 overall this season. The losses were to Breese Mater Dei, Paxton-Buckley-Loda and Centralia.
Paris is 0-2 in the Apollo, but also 2-3 on the season overall. The Tigers beat Cumberland and Watseka to start the season, but have since lost to Clifton Central, Salem and Mt. Zion.
This is the final time Effingham will play football at Paris, as the Tigers are leaving the Apollo Conference after next season.
