Apollo, Little Illini Conference Standings -- September 27

Effingham High School opened the Apollo Conference football season last Friday night with a 26-13 win over Charleston.
This week the Hearts will play host to Salem in conference play and will celebrate homecoming. Also on the agenda will be Mattoon at Charleston and Mount Zion at Paris. All games start at 7 p.m.
In the Little Illini Conference (Egyptian), Newton is 1-1 in the conference, 1-3 overall. The Eagles lost last week to Lawrenceville 48-26 and will host Marshall Friday at 7 p.m.
In the Little Illini Conference (Eastern), Cumberland stands at 1-1 in the conference, 1-3 overall. The Pirates lost three straight before picking up a 6-0 win over Palestine last week. The Pirates play host to league-leading Casey-Westfield Friday at 7 p.m.
