(New York, NY) -- The NFL is sending Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh a message. The league has fined Suh 100-thousand-dollars for his unnecessary roughness penalty in Detroit's 34-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings Sunday.  The two-time Pro Bowler was flagged after he blindsided Vikings center John Sullivan with a hit to the knees. It's Suh's fifth fine for a "dirty play" in four seasons.

 

Giants Bringing Back Brandon Jacobs

(East Rutherford, NJ) -- The Giants are bringing back an old face to help with their struggling ground game. New York has signed running back Brandon Jacobs after he worked out for the team Tuesday  The 31-year-old joins a running back corps that has been depleted by injuries and the inability to hold on to the football. Jacobs spent seven seasons with the Giants before becoming a salary cap casualty.

 

Broncos' Miller In More Legal Trouble

(Denver, CO) -- The trouble continues to pile up for suspended Broncos linebacker Von Miller. CBS4 in Denver reports that Miller was cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license last week in Arapahoe County. He had been pulled over for speeding but was released to the custody of his father, who was with him at the time. He is currently serving a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

 

Group To Protest Redskins Name Outside Lambeau Field

(Green Bay, WI) -- A group will be outside Lambeau Field in Green Bay this Sunday to protest the name and logo of the Washington Redskins before the DC-based team plays the Packers. The Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin has objected to the DC football team's name in the past, but says it has no plan to be a part of the demonstration. Redskins owner Dan Snyder has said that he will never change the name of his team.

 

Huskies Take On Illini

(Seattle, WA) -- The Huskies will play their next game at the home of the NFL's Chicago Bears. Washington is ranked 23rd in the nation and takes on Illinois at Soldier Field Saturday at 3 p.m. Pacific. Both teams are undefeated.  

 

Articles Allege Improprieties In Oklahoma State Football Program

(Stillwater, OK) -- Oklahoma State's football program is coming under fire. A recent issue of "Sports Illustrated" has five articles that tackle allegations of cash payments made to players, academic irregularities, drug use and recruits being plied with sex. Many of the violations happened outside the four-year statute of limitations for prosecution, but the NCAA could still penalize the school if the violations continued in the last four years.
