Documents Reveal More Evidence Against Hernandez In Murder Case

(Attleboro, MA) -- The evidence continues to mount against former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez in the murder of Odin Lloyd.  Court documents unsealed Tuesday show that Massachusetts police have found shell casings that match the caliber of bullets recovered from the area where Lloyd's body was found. Police said they found a matching shell casing in a silver 2012 Nissan Altima that Hernandez had rented.  Investigators also found Lloyd's fingerprints in the car.

 

Lions Reach Extension Agreement With QB Stafford

(Allen Park, MI) -- The Detroit Lions are locking up quarterback Matthew Stafford. ESPN's Ed Werder reports the two sides have finalized a blockbuster contract extension worth $53-million in new money. The 25-year-old signal-caller passed for nearly 5,000 yards, 20 touchdowns and 17 interceptions last season as the Lions went 4-12. Stafford is entering his fifth season with Detroit after being drafted first overall in 2009 out of Georgia.

 

Broncos' Heckert Facing DUI Charge

(Englewood, CO) -- For the second time in as many days, a member of the Denver Broncos front office is facing a legal issue. Director of pro personnel Tom Heckert is being charged with DUI stemming from a June arrest. The "Denver Post" reports Heckert was pulled over in Parker and may have been weaving prior to being stopped by police. Director of player personnel Matt Russell was arrested over the weekend in Breckenridge for DUI after colliding with several vehicles, including a police SUV.

 

Jaguars Ink Robinson

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Denard Robinson Tuesday. The Jaguars picked the former Michigan quarterback in the fifth round of this year's draft and listed him as an offensive weapon on the club's roster. Robinson was a four-
year letterman at Michigan where he played in 49 games with 37 starts, including two as a running back. He set the NCAA record for single-season rushing yards by a quarterback (1,702) in 2010, and ended his career with the most rushing yards by a quarterback in NCAA history with 4,495 yards.

 

San Francisco 49ers Sign Reid

The San Francisco 49ers signed safety Eric Reid to a four-year contract Tuesday. Reid was selected 18th overall by the 49ers in this year's draft out of Louisiana State University. In 2012, Reid started all 13 games and recorded
91 tackles, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and seven passes defensed. He earned All-America and First-Team All-SEC honors. The 22-year-old Reid finished his college career with 199 tackles, six interceptions, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 11 passes defensed.
