The Dallas Cowboys 28-20 Thanksgiving Day victory over the New York Giants set a record for the most-watched NFL regular-season game on network television in league history.

According to Nielsen, the football game averaged 42 million viewers, surpassing the 41.55 million average for the Dec. 3, 1990, Monday night game between the Giants and San Francisco 49ers on ABC.

The Buffalo Bills 28-25 win over the Detroit Lions on CBS was the most-watched early Thanksgiving Day game on record with a 31.6 million average.

Beckham Removed From Flight

NFL free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was removed from a Los Angeles-bound American Airlines flight Sunday morning at Miami International Airport after refusing to comply with safety protocol.

Officers were notified of a medical emergency on an American Airlines flight around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The flight crew grew concerned for a passenger, who was identified by police as Beckham, as they tried to wake him to fasten his seat belt. He appeared to be coming in and out of consciousness prior to their departure, but fearing that Mr. Beckham was seriously ill, the attendants called for police and fire rescue.

Upon the officers arrival, the flight crew asked Mr. Beckham several times to exit the aircraft, which he refused early on but in the end offboarded the plane.

Jim Leonhard, the man the players hoped would have become the program’s permanent head coach, was passed over for the position by athletic director Chris McIntosh. Fickell was scheduled to meet with the team Sunday night.
