Bears Re-Sign RB Allen
The Chicago Bears will have a familiar face in the backfield this season. Running back Armando Allen signed his exclusive rights tender Thursday. The Notre Dame product ran for 124 yards and one touchdown on 27 carries in 15 games last season.
Rams Introduce Tackle Jake Long
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Rams introduced left tackle Jake Long Thursday. Long agreed to a four-year contract with St. Louis worth $36-million. The 27-year-old was the first overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft by Miami. Long was slowed by injuries last season, but made the Pro Bowl each of his first four years.
Extension Could Make Packers' Rodgers NFL's Highest-Paid Player
(Green Bay, WI) -- Quarterback Aaron Rodgers could soon be the NFL's highest-paid player. ESPN reports he and the Packers are moving closer to a contract that would make him the richest player in the league. The contract is expected to be completed this offseason and could average $25-million per season. Ravens QB Joe Flacco is currently the NFL's highest-paid player after signing a six-year, $120.6-million contract earlier this month.
