Police say 25-year-old Jerry Brown, a passenger in the car driven by Josh Brent, died following the accident. Brent, a nose tackle with the Cowboys, was reportedly travelling at a high rate of speed on a service road of East State Highway 114 when he flipped his car.

Brent failed a sobriety test and was booked in Irving City Jail on a charge of intoxication manslaughter. Brown and Brent were teammates on the Illini football squad for three years.
