Effingham High School's junior varsity football team ran it's record to 4-0 with a victory over Salem Monday night, 24-6.

Effingham's defense forced four turnovers with interceptions by Jordan Coleman, Alec Stevenson and Matt Wohltman, and a fumble recovery by Joe Nieman. They also were responsible for a blocked extra point. Andy Lustig and Brandon Loy lead the team in tackles with nine and eight respectfully.

The offense was lead by Kevin Daughtery with four touchdowns, two rushing and two passing. He started off the scoring with a 11 yard rushing play on the opening drive to give the Hearts a 6-0 lead. In the second quarter the Hearts got two scores, Daugherty with a seven yard rushing touchdown and a 34 yard touchdown pass to Payton Bushue to finish the first half scoring, with the Hearts leading 18-6.

The last scoring play was a 71 yard touchdown pass from Daugherty to Trent Barnhart.

The JV Hearts play at Paris next Monday night.
