Governor Pat Quinn signed new legislation that's designed to reduce and prevent concussions among high school athletes. The governor says schools need to take the dangers of concussions seriously.

It requires the IHSA to develop an online training course for high school coaches and athletic directors. Coaches and athletic directors will need to renew their certification every two years. Meanwhile, athletes will be required to watch a concussions awareness video each year.
