Monticello Wins Cumberland Invitational

Monticello won the 2013 Cumberland Invitational held Saturday.

The host school earned an eighth place finish, Neoga finished 11th, Dieterich 12th, St. Anthony 13th, and Altamont was among four schools that didn't field a full team of runners.

That didn't stop Altamont's Andrew Sharp, though, who finished fourth overall in 16:06.8.  Eric Ponder of Tuscola won the event in 15:14.5. 

Tye Sutherland finished 14th to lead Cumberland.  Other Cumberland finishers: Nathan Day 43rd, Andrew Talley 57th, Kyle Swingler 58th, Dreyton Ruholl 80th

Ryan Evans finished 21st to lead Neoga.  Other Neoga finishers: Justin Deters 49th, Ethan Walk 67th, Jesse Holt 86th, David Abernathy 93rd

Reed Higgs finished 60th to lead Dieterich.  Other Dieterich finishers: Josh Kidd 63rd, Wyatt Abbott 81st, Josh Campbell 85th, Troy Niemerg 97th

John Sandschafer finished 45th to lead St. Anthony.  Other St. Anthony finishers: Mitchell Sager 83rd, Matt Gibson 84th, Mack McWhorter 95th, Drake McHugh 102nd

Other Altamont results: Jesus Flores 37th, Devin Durbin 51st, Jake Seidel 92nd
