EHS Wins C.C. Meets Over St. Anthony

Effingham High School won both a boys and a girls cross country meet against Effingham St. Anthony Thursday at Ballard Nature Center.

In the boys meet, the Hearts won 24-31. Andrew Donaldson took the top sport for the Hearts in 16:39. Also scoring were Alex Gordon third in 18:01, Garret Wagoner fourth in 18:01.5, Adam Flach seventh in 18:37 and Aaron Hill ninth in 19:04.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Griffen Elder second in 17:10, Julius Ramos fifth in 18;25, Giovanni Bucio sixth in 18:26, Conlan Walsh eighth in 18;40 and Noah Flaig 10th in 19:05.

In the girls meet, Effingham was a 23-32 winner.

Effingham's Jessica Larsen won in 20:22 followed by teammates Bailey Summers second in 21:29, Hattie HIll fifth in 22:57, Morgan Springer sixth in 22:57.2 and Kyra Hazelton ninth in 25:59.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were Emma Helmink third in 22:24, Stacey Vonderheide fourth in 22:37, Ava Faber seventh in 24:06, Taylor Miller eighth in 25:15 and Grace Niebrugge 10th in 26;14.
