Bulldogs Nab First In Boys C.C., Second In Girls Meet

ROBINSON -- Effingham St. Anthony claimed first place in a boys cross country meet Tuesday while the girls finished second.

In the boys contest, the Bulldogs' Griffen Elder claimed first place with a time of 17:11. Julius Ramos took third in 17:52 while Conlan Walsh was fifth in 18:39. Vincent Vogel took seventh in 18:51 and Noah Flaig was eighth in 18:52.

The Bulldogs tallied 24 points while Robinson was second with 47.

Other runners competing for  St. Anthony were: 11. Gio Buccio, 19:16.02, 15. Oliver Kreke, 20:15.64, 22. James Emmerich, 21:26.24, 28. Max Sager, 22:25.00,  30. Calvin Sudkamp, 22:38.73, 36. Sam Deters, 26:56.66 and 37. Nick Wiedman, 26:56.89.

North Clay's Owen Ayers was fourth in 18:09.27 and Asher Horn was 35th in 25:30.88.

T-town's Oliver Lee finished 19th in 21:03.03.

St. Anthony is back in action Saturday at the Chrisman Cowchip Classic.

The Bulldogs claimed second behind Robinson in the girls meet. The top two were followed by Palestine, North Clay (Louisville), Teutopolis and Lawrenceville.

Robinson's Katelyn Jones won with a time of 20:34.73.

Finishing for St. Anthony were Emma Helmink eighth in 23:08.13, Ava Faber 11th in 24:26.43, Taylor Miller 12th in 24:37.26, Mady Hodge 13th in 24:43.09 and Grace Niebrugge 17th in 26;35.59.

North  Clay's Brook Kelm was 10th in 24:15.
