Area Teams Compete At Tuscola C.C. Classic

TUSCOLA -- Several area teams competed in the 44th Annual Tuscola Cross Country Classic Saturday.

In the boys meet, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond was the winner with 44 points followed by Shelbyville 86, Tuscola 97, Tolono Unity 136, Clinton 186, Urbana University 191, Downs Tri-Valley 218, Effingham St. Anthony 236, Marshall 244, Fairbury Prairie Central 251, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 255, Cerro Gordo 257, Cumberland 298, Broadlands Heritage 354, Paris 382, Villa Grove 393 and Sullivan 407.

Winning the meet was Ryder James of Paxton-Buckley-Loda with a time of 15:05.65.

Competing for St. Anthony were Griffen Elder who finished ninth in 17:20.97, Gio Buccio 35th in 18:44.65, Conlan Walsh 37th in 18:55.29, Max Sager 94th in 21:10.02, Nick Wiedman 104th in 21:48.97, Calvin Sudkamp 109th in 22:05.96 and Sam Deters 115th in 22:23.74

Competing for Neoga were Wiley Peters who finished 24th in 18:04.46, Jack Pruemer 66th in 19:43.03 and Michael Beamont 86th in 20:39.28.

Competing for Cumberland were Hank Warfel 70th in 19:48.19, Riley Morgan 100th in 21:32.27 and Rylon Eaton 131st in 24:01.41.

Aiden Wallace was eighth for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in 20:35.95, Beau Doedtman 102nd in 21:43.80 and Zander Merrifield 105th in 21:51.27.

In the girls meet, Tolono Unity was the winner with 32 points followed by Urbana University 79, Marshall 99, Cilnton 126, Shelbyville 146, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 160, Downs Tri-Valley 193, Tuscola 206, Argenta-Oreana 256, Neoga 264, Paris 289 and Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 327.

Urbana University's Kate Ahmari was the winner with a time of 18:27.66.

Competing for St. Anthony were Emma Helmink 34th in 22:41.54, Taylor Miller 63rd in 24:18.41, Ava Faber 74th in 24:59.70 and Macy Rietz 82nd in 25:30.52.

Competing for Neoga were Ani Edwards 40th in 22:58.83, Maggie Clark 64th in 24:23.96, Lexie Fletcher 85th in 26:05.36, Abbagayl Howald 94th in 26:28.39, Emma Butler 103rd in 27:15.29, Addison Mast 114th in 28:47.58 and Myah Wright 129th in 32:35.82.
