St. Anthony finished sixth and would have gone on to the State Cross Country Meet.

Effingham St. Anthony High School finished sixth in the Class 1A Decatur St. Teresa Boys Cross Country Sectional Saturday.

Winning the team title was Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond with 62 points followed by St. Joseph-Ogden 76, Monticello 82, Tolono Unity 120, Robinson 191, St. Anthony 199, Bismarck-Henning-Rossville 208, Marshall 214, Newton 225, Shelbyville 228, Roxana 243, Glen Carbon Father McGivney 262, Litchfield 307, Carinville 317 and Teutopolis 332.

Winning the individual championship was Layton Hall of Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hamond with a time fo 15:27.6.

Newton High School's Nick Zwilling finished ninth with a time of 16:13.7.

The top runner for St. Anthony was Noah Tegeler 23rd in 16:56.2.

Cumberland's Logan Edwards took 54th in 17:49.1. T-town's Ethan Weidner was 55th in 17:49.5. Altamont's Aden McManaway was 65th in 18:09.6.

In the girls meet, Monticello won with 51 points followed byTolono Unity 69, Marshall 107, Urbana University 130, St. Joseph-Ogden 150, Roxana 161, Shelbyville 179, Champaign St. Thomas More 185, Robinson 228, Casey-Westifeld 274, Glen Carbon Father McGivney 305, Neoga 315, Teutopolis 329, Litchfield 361 and Alon Marquette 394.

Kate Ahmari of Urbana University took the top spot with a time of 18:29.4.

Neoga's Jasmyn Dittamore finished 17th in 19:33.0. Newton's Rylea Borgic was 24th in 19:52.0. T-town's top runner was Olivia Copple 59th in 21:15.7. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Sydney Lorton finished 73rd in 22:02.0. St. Anthony's Rilie Willenborg was 92nd in 23:13.2.

Effingham High School's Andrew Donaldson competed in the Class 2A Olney Sectional Saturday.

Donaldson finished 60th with a time of 17:26.41.

Mascoutah was the team champion with 72 points followed by Chatham Glenwood 84, Marion 97, Mahomet-Seymour 146, Olney 156, Rochester 175, Carbondale 201, Springfield 212, Champaign Central 261, Highland 270, Troy Triad 285, Bethalto Civic Memorial 286, Mattoon 286, Lincoln 320 and Urbana 326.

Winning the individual championship was Alex Partlow of Carbondale in 15:32.36.
