St. Anthony, Cumberland Compete at Chrisman Invite

CHRISMAN -- Effingham St. Anthony High School finished seventh and Cumberland fifth in the Chrisman Cow Chip Boys Cross Country Invitational Saturday.

Winning was Monticello with 10 points followed by St. Joseph-Ogden 16, Uni High 42, Robinson 42, Cumberland 44, Paxton-Buckley-Loda 45, St. Anthony 46, Tuscola 46, Marshall 48, Unity 64, Prairie Central 80, Paris 81, Hutsonville 83, Heyworth 94, Villa Grove 100 and Bement 44.

Finishing in each race for the Bulldogs were:

No. 1 -- 11. Brian Dust, 17:23

No. 2 -- 12. Clayton Helmink, 18:01

No. 3 -- 11. Kennan Walsh, 17:58

No. 4 -- 15. Ollie Kingery, 19:39; 26

No. 6 -- 2. Drew Dust, 18:26

No. 7 -- 2. Ty Wiedman, 18:21

Finishing in each race for Cumberland were:

No. 1 -- 7. Kort McClellan, 16:39

No. 2 -- 6. Blake Sutherland, 17:20

No. 3 -- 5. Rayce Zike, 17:43

No. 5 -- 6. Michael Carpenter, 17:51

In the girls race, Unity was the team champion with nine points followed by St. Joseph-Ogden 16, Monticello 21, Uni High 24, Prairie Central 42, Heyworth 44, Paris 48, Cumberland 48 and Oakwood 63.
