Effingham High School played host to Paris in a boys makeup basketball contest Wednesday evening and claimed a 57-28 victory but lost a key player to injury.

Braydon Bone fell and suffered broken bones in his wrist. He will be out for the rest of the season.

The Hearts went out to a 10-4 opening quarter lead on the Tigers. EHS then went on a 15-4 scoring binge as six players connected for points and the Hearts led 25-8 at halftime.

Only one player hit double figures for the Hearts but nine scored in the contest. Phil Knight hit five field goals and was two of four at the line for 12 points. Kevin Daugherty scored nine and Kennan Mahaffey and Matt Wohltman tallied eight each.

Paris was led by Martin with six points.
