Kansas Bounces Baylor

(Lawrence, KS) -- Kansas picked up a third straight win over a top-25 team taking care of Baylor, 78-68, at Allen Fieldhouse behind 18 points and five rebounds from Perry Ellis. The victory against number-23 Baylor came after defeating number-12 Oklahoma State and No. 17 Iowa State. The 11th-ranked Jayhawks sit at 14-4 overall and 5-0 in the Big 12. Isaiah Austin and Cory Jefferson each posted 16 points in the loss. The Bears dropped to 13-5 and 1-4.


No. 24 Creighton Crushes No. 5 Villanova

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Ethan Wragge posted 27 points to lead 24th-ranked Creighton in a 96-68 blowout win over number-five Villanova in Philadelphia. Doug McDermott added 23 points and five rebounds while Jahenns Manigat poured in 19 points for the Bluejays, who set a Big East record with 21 three-pointers.  Creighton improved to 16-3 with a 6-and-1 Big East mark. James Bell had 19 points to lead the Wildcats while JayVaughn Pinkston added 11 points in defeat. Villanova fell to 5-1 in conference and dropped to 16-2 overall.


Nebraska Upends No. 15 Ohio State

(Lincoln, NE) -- Shavon Shields had 18 points and nine rebounds as Nebraska pulled off a 68-62 upset win over No. 15 Ohio State in Lincoln. Aaron Craft led the Buckeyes with 12 points and seven boards while LaQuinton Ross netted 11 points in defeat. OSU fell to 15-4 with a 2-4 conference record. Ohio State hosts Illinois on Thursday.  


College Basketball Roundup

In local college basketball action last night, DePaul fell 84-74 at home to Xavier. There's plenty of action on tap tonight. Northwestern plays host to Purdue while Notre Dame is on the road at Florida State. UIC hosts Cleveland State Wednesday while Northern Illinois is at Toledo.


Illinois Meets Ohio State Thursday

(Columbus, OH) -- Illinois hits the road Thursday for a matchup with 15th-ranked Ohio State in Columbus. The Fighting Illini are 13-6 with a 2-4 Big Ten record. The Buckeyes fell to 15-4 with an equal 2-4 conference mark after being upset by Nebraska last night in Lincoln.
