Mater Dei Posts Big Victory Over Bulldogs

The Breese Mater Dei Knights scored 49 points over the middle two quarters Friday night and posted a convincing 70-33 win over the St. Anthony Bulldogs.

The Knights led 14-7 after the first period, but took over the game when they outscored the Bulldogs 27-4 in the second quarter to lead 41-11 at halftime.  A 22-13 edge in the third period gave Mater Dei a 63-24 lead.

Mater Dei had four players score in double figures.

John Goeckner led St. Anthony with 11 points.  Also for the Bulldogs: Alex Hoelscher nine, Frank Jansen five, Zach Gardewine four, Neil Williams three, and Connor Greene one.

St. Anthony drops to 12-5 on the season.

Mater Dei won the JV game 57-44.  For St. Anthony: Kyle Hartke 14, Connor Greene 13, Derek Rios nine, James Kabbes and Nick Grunloh three each, Jeff Niebrugge two.
