Highland Comes From Behind to Defeat Wooden Shoes

The Highland Bulldogs put the bite on the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes Friday night, coming from behind to defeat T-Town 61-55.

The Shoes led 19-12 after one quarter and 34-25 at halftime before Highland began its comeback, outscoring Teutopolis 20-13 in the third quarter to pull within 47-45 and outpointing the Shoes 16-8 in the final period to post the six-point win.

Brett Mette with 20 points and Reed Hardiek with 19 points led the Wooden Shoes.  Also for Teutopolis: Bobby Wenthe nine, Cody Will five, and Justin Kenter two.

Austin Elledge scored 25 points to lead Highland.

The Wooden Shoes dropped to 9-2 on the season, resuming action next Saturday at the St. Anthony Shootout.

Teutopolis won the JV game 61-37 to improve to 4-1 on the season.
