Tri-County Boys Tournament Underway

The Tri-County Boys Basketball Tournament got underway Monday with four games. In the opening contest, Tri-County defeated Hutsonville-Palestine 57-43.

In the second contest, Arthur-Lovington won over Stewardson-Strasburg 63-38. Arthur-Lovington held a 28-24 halftime lead then had an 18-3 third quarter run to put the contest away.

C. Plank led Arthur-Lovington with 15 points while Schuring added 13. Stew-Stras was led by Helmuth with 15.

In the third game, Westville defeated Windsor 55-31. Westville skipped out to a 12-4 opening quarter lead and led 24-15 at halftime. Windsor came back with a 10-8 third period run but Westville made sure the game was on ice with a 23-6 final period surge.

Windsor was led by Warner with 13 points.

In the final game of the evening, Paris bounced Cumberland 71-54. The Tigers held a 45-25 halftime lead. Temples tallied 22 for the winners while Spencer added 16.

Cumberland was led by Cutts with 24 points.

The tournament continues Friday with Tri-County against Arthur-Lovington at 9 a.m. followed by Stew-Stras facing Hutsonville-Palesitne at 10:30, Cumberland facing Westville at noon, Windsor taking on Paris at 1:30 p.m., Stew-Stras against Tri-County at 3, Arthur-Lovington facing Hutsonville-Palestine at 4:30, Windsor taking on Cumberland at 6 amd Westville finishing out the day against Paris at 7:30. The finals are scheduled for Satiurday beginning at 3 p.m.
