Illini Hand Mizzou First Loss

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Tracy Abrams posted 22 points and six rebounds to carry Illinois to a 65-64 win over number-25 Missouri on Saturday in St. Louis.  Rayvonte Rice added 14 points for the Fighting Illini, who improved to 10-2.  The Illini host Illinois-Chicago Saturday.


College Basketball Roundup

Northwestern defeated Brown 58-52 Sunday. Elsewhere, DePaul suffered a 69-64 loss to Illinois State and Northern Illinois beat UC-Riverside, 71-64. Notre Dame dropped a 64-61 loss to Ohio State in New York Saturday. Illinois-Chicago faces Colorado State tonight on the road. .

Saint Louis and Missouri will all take Christmas off before returning to action later this week. The Billikens are 11-2 and are at Vanderbilt next Monday. The Tigers are at North Carolina State Saturday.

 

ND's Grant Forced To Leave Hoops Squad

(South Bend, IN) -- Notre Dame will be without its leading scorer Jerian Grant for the rest of the season. The school has declared him ineligible due to an "academic matter." Grant averages 19 points per game for the Fighting Irish. Head coach Mike Brey is set to address the situation this morning.
