Lady Bulldogs Remain Undefeated w/Win Over Altamont

The St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs remained undefeated on the young season Monday, pushing their record to 5-0 with a 46-26 over the Altamont Lady Indians.

The game was heard on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com.  

St. Anthony exploded out of the gate, leading 17-5 after one quarter.  Altamont appeared to have righted the ship as the second quarter got underway, pulling within five points before turnovers caused problems.  The Lady Indians still outscored St. Anthony 14-10 in the quarter, though, to trail 27-19 at halftime.

The second half, though, was all St. Anthony as the Lady Bulldogs outscored Altamont 19-7 in the second half to post the 20-point win.

Neither team shot the ball well, St. Anthony going 14 of 42 and Altamont just 10 of 34.  St. Anthony went 16-of-23 from the line and Altamont was five-of-12 from the line.  St. Anthony turned the ball over just nine times to 20 for Altamont.  St. Anthony outboarded Altamont 28-24.  The Bulldogs hit on two of seven three-point tries, while Altamont missed four three-pointers.

Kate Richards led St. Anthony with 13 points and six rebounds.  Morgan Gardewine and Abby Brown each scored nine points, Megan Nuxoll seven, Lauren Wendt with four, and Hunter Niebrugge and Lexie Niebrugge in her first game of the season each scoring two points.  Wendt and Nuxoll also grabbed six rebounds each.

Madison Ohnesorge led Altamont in scoring with 13 points and five rebounds.  Also scoring for Altamont: Macy Wendling six, Chandra Smith five and Renee Tillman two.

Altamont is even on the season at 4-4.

St. Anthony won the JV game 28-22.
