BOYS FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE

Teutopolis claimed two victories over Effingham St. Anthony in boys freshman/sophomore basketball competition Thursday evening.

The Wooden Shoes won the freshman contest 63-28. T-town held a 34-7 halftime lead. Mette tallied 14 while Brant Bueker scored 12 and Ungrund 11. St. Anthony was led by Dalton Walk with nine.

In the sophomore contest, the score was tied at 10-10 after the first quarter. The Shoes edged out to a 23-16 halftime lead and led 37-26 going into the final quarter and claimed a 46-38 win. Johnson tallied 15 for the winners. St. Anthony was led by Kyle Hartke and Jeff Niebrugge with eight points each.

BOYS JUNIOR HIGH

Dieterich and Windsor split victories in junior high basketball action Thursday evening.

Windsor won the seventh-grade contest 33-30. In eighth-grade action, Dieterich claimed a 61-20 victory.

 

At Altamont

Altamont claimed a seventh-grade victory over Cowden-Herrick, 28-18. Altamont held a 15-7 first half lead.

Alek Biggs tallied nine to lead the winners. Cowden-Herrick was led by Smith and Edwards with four points each.

In eighth-grade action, Altamont claimed a 47-24 victory. Altamont broke a 12-12 opening quarter tie by holding Cowden-Herrick without a point in the second period for a 31-12 halftime lead.

Brown tallied 22 points for the winners while Davis chipped in with 10. Cowden-Herrick was led by Seely with six points.
